How to Reach Karlsruhe by Plane

Airport Frankfurt

  • Airport with the most frequent flight connections and the only one with intercontinental connections.
  • This airport also has the best public transport (train) connection to Karlsruhe.
  • Trains to Karlsruhe (travel time 1 hour) leave at the long-distance train station (Fernbahnhof) of the airport.
  • the trains leave every hour (6 mins before the hour), but  not all are direct (every second one you must change train in Mannheim) - see the train schedule of Deutsche Bahn (German Rail).
  • Once you have reached Karlsruhe main station, continue by tram or taxi.

 

 

Airport Stuttgart

Take tram line S2 or S3 to Hauptbahnhof Stuttgart, then change to a train to Karlsruhe (for exact times of departure, please refer to the train schedule of Deutsche Bahn = German Rail).

  • Once you have reached Karlsruhe main station, continue by tram or taxi.

 

 

Airport Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (Baden-Airpark)

  • This is the closest airport to Karlsruhe and is served e.g. by Ryanair and Air Berlin.
  • Buses are available at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport that will take you to the train stations of Rastatt or Baden-Baden where you will find trains leaving to Karlsruhe. The Baden-Airpark-Express bus line will take you directly to Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (main station).
  • Once you have reached Karlsruhe main station, continue by tram or taxi.
