BMBF project within the VEGAS research focus Optimization and further development of hydraulic remediation techniques

The enhanced contaminant removal by a groundwater circulation well (GZB) was studied in detail in the large VEGAS containers. In these containers three experiments on commercial scale were conducted under real life conditions in heterogeneous aquifers (layered, block aquifer). The remediation of different contamination sources (TCE, Xylene) could be interpreted in combination with parallel conducted laboratory experiments using an upscaling approach.
