Partner within the DFG Research Group Risk potential of waste water form leaking sewers for soils and groundwater.

Simulations of the chemical transport and transformation close to sewer leakages under different boundary and site conditions will be conducted using the recently developed numerical model. On the basis of the simulation results simple balance approaches for the chemical impact on soil and groundwater should be derived and implemented in an expert system, that will serve as a predictive tool assessing the risk potential of sewer leakage for soils and groundwater.
